General

Do you provide support?
Yes! We provide unlimited support via email, and we do our best to respond to every email within just a few hours of receiving it. We also make sure one of the company owners or employee answers the email. We do not outsource our support overseas or employ unqualified support staff.

Can you customize Business Driver for us?
Business Driver is really flexible: each company account can be personalized. Company account Administrator can change the colors, upload your own logo, and set up custom categories for your account.

Is Business Driver available in other languages besides English?
Yes! Business Driver is available in English, Italian, French, German and Spanish and we are working on other languages (Slovakian, Russian, Dutch and others...).

Application settings

How can I change the time zone used for time stamps?
Go to the "Personal settings" page (the link is in the top menu) and select the appropriate time zone for your area.

User Administration
 
How do I add user accounts?
You can invite others to join your Business Driver extranet. When you add them, an e-mail is sent that provides a sign-up link and the password for them to use. Go to Administration and look for User Management or Customer Management if you want to create an account for your customer.

Someone has left my company. Can I delete the user account?
Sure. An administrator can delete a user account. Note that until you delete the user account, anyone can sign in to Business Driver if they know the the e-mail address and password associated with that account.

Can I keep certain people/clients from seeing specific projects? How do we set permissions?
You can give anyone permission to access any project, or keep anyone from seeing any project. Simply log into the project, click the “Manage resources for this project” link (right menu), then select people you want to access to the project info.

Time Tracking

Can our clients see time tracking information?
Time tracking is only available to people in your own company. Your clients can not see the tab.

Can we add time from the dashboard or do we need to go into a project to add time?
In order to enter any data in a project you need to enter that project first. Once inside the project page, you’ll see the "Add effort" link on the top of the page. Click that link and you can enter time tracking data for that project.

Does Business Driver have a stopwatch/timer or do I need to enter time manually?
Yes, Business Driver have a timer. Just a click to start the project timer or a single task timer and another click to save the tracked time. You can also add note to each entry.

Can we export time tracking data to external tools or Excel?
Sure. You can export your data in CSV format by clicking the “Project Package Download ” link in the right menu.


Security

How is Business Driver designed with secure business in mind?
Web addresses in Business Driver adhere to fine access control so that you can share content, such as files and information, at a level of your choosing. You control who sees your business information.
Messages, files & documents, and other shared content are protected with end-to-end encryption.
Business Driver provides a predictable experience when you share your content, or if you want to keep something private.

Is our data backed up in case of an emergency?
Data is backed up nightly and written to multiple disks instantly. We can perform full backup recovery in the event of a system-wide emergency. Our hardware is also fully redundant so even if one disk or server fails, nothing will be lost and the system will not go down. Our uptime is over 99%.

Is Business Driver reliable, secure, and confidential? Is our data safe?
Of course! We take all reasonable precautions to keep your information safe and secure. Our state-of-the-art redundant server cluster is hosted and professionally managed.

Can we export our data if we don’t want to use Business Driver anymore? What format is the export in?
Sure! You can export your messages, notes, to-do lists, links, effort registry and all other data store in Business Driver by just in a click.
To export data, the administrator should click to “Download project package” link: a zip will be created ready for the download. Email will be saved in .eml format, link in .html, uploaded files will be saved in their original format, other informations may be saved as plain text or comma separated values (.csv).
 
Can we install Business Driver on our own server?
Would you like to spend your time on installation, manteinance, upgrades, backups? You don't have to because we do it for you: we take care of the servers, the security, all the updates and improvements.
So you don’t have to worry about anything and you can focus on your business.
 
Troubleshooting

Whenever I try to log in, the login page just reloads and doesn’t display an error message. What’s up?
The most common cause of this is that your browser isn’t set to accept cookies (a cookie is a text-only string that gets entered into the memory of your browser). Business Driver requires that cookies are turned on so the application can track your session and know who you are as you use Business Driver.
Instructions for turning on cookies in most web browsers can be found at “How to Enable Cookies” or “How to control cookies.” For more information on cookies, see this Wikipedia entry.
The other possibility is you have a firewall or security system set up that is too strict. It’s preventing cookies from being accepted or Javascript from being run. Business Driver needs both cookies and javascript in order to function properly.
 
Why is our old logo still showing up after I upload a new one?
This is caused by a browser-caching issue that rears its ugly head on a few browser/version/platform combinations.
If you upload your new logo, and you still see the old one, just force reload your browser. The reloaded page should show the new logo. To force-reload on a Mac browser, hold down the “option” key and click the reload/refresh button in your browser. On the PC, hold down the “alt” key and click your browser's reload/refresh button.
